Here are the answers to some common questions...

What is 3D Secure? Why do I have to register my card?
3-D Secure is an added layer of security for online credit and debit card transactions. It was developed by Visa to improve the security of Internet payments and offered to customers as the Verified by Visa service. Services based on the protocol have also been adopted by MasterCard, under the name MasterCard SecureCode.

Merchants have to use this system to help reduce fraud, otherwise they are liable for any fraudulent transactions. However, we strongly recommend that customers enrol for their own security and peace of mind. You only need to enrol once and it only takes a few seconds and then you can buy from any site online offering 3D security.

When you shop face to face you would enter a pin number when paying by card, but when purchasing online you enter a password instead (once you have registered). This means that if someone has got hold of your card details and tries to purchase on a site offering 3D security they would not be able to complete the purchase without knowing your password, so it is added security for you. Therefore, we recommend that you only purchase from sites offering this service as most bone fide retailers will be following this code of practice.


Why do you ship First Class items 2-3 days before the due date?
First Class is not guaranteed to arrive by the next day, although this happens in most cases. Also, most of our gifts do not fit in a letterbox and if the recipient is out, they would be carded and would need to re-arrange delivery, so this gives them time to get the item redelivered for their special occasion.


Why is there no security padlock on my browser when entering my address details?
Your name and address details are already in the public domain and can be found in many ways and putting extra security on all of our site, would make use of it very difficult. You may have come across sites where you have to keep clicking on a screen to allow you to view each page?

However, rest assured, when you go onto the payment pages this is on our Banker's site and you will then see a padlock and all payment details are encrypted by the banks excellent security, even we don't see your card details.

In addition to that our Bankers and ourselves comply with industry regulations and are PCI DSS compliant. This means that we have systems in place to protect our customers and their information and our computers are regularly scanned to ensure that no one can hack into them to retrieve this.
